Services offered by the Government-to-Citizens, Government-to-Employees, Government-to-Businesses and Government-to-Government shall be driven by the latest Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to make them reachable, convenient, collaborative and efficient with required transparency.

E-Government enables anyone visiting a government website to communicate and interact with government departments via the Internet with graphical user interfaces (GUI), instant-messaging (IM), audio/video presentations, and in any way more sophisticated than a simple email letter to the address provided at the site and “the use of technology to enhance the access to and delivery of government services to benefit citizens, business partners and employees” in terns improving efficiency & transparency.
The focus is on:
  • Ease of access & availability of the various services provided by the government for its citizens irrespective of time/location.
  • The use of Information and communication technologies, and particularly the Internet, as a tool to achieve better governance.
  • The use of information and tools in all facets of the operations of a government organization.
  • Imparting training, up-gradation of knowledge, sharing of information within the department, introduction of dash board etc.
Whilst e-Government has traditionally been understood as being centered around the operations of government, e-Governance is understood to extend the scope by including citizen engagement and participation in governance.
